Leaky Gut Syndrome occurs when sensitivity causes chronic inflammation within the intestinal walls. This is instigated by excess gluten, which releases Zonulin, the protein that breaks down cell junctions within the intestines. As a result the immune system attacks toxins, microbes and undigested food as if they were foreign invaders.

Conditions:- Leaky Gut can cause CFS (chronic fatigue syndrome), MS (multiple sclerosis), Lupus, migraines, even autism.

Diagnosis by:- Lactulose/Mannitol test and Intestinal Antigenic Permeability Screen

Treatment:-
1. Remove bad foods
2. Add good foods
3. Facilitate repair of the intestinal walls – good bacteria eg probiotics and L glutamine)

FOODS to AVOID:-
Gluten
Grains
Coffee
Artificial sweeteners and sugar
Refined vegetables and oils

FOODS to ENCOURAGE:-
Steamed vegetables
Coconut milk/oil
Grass fed meats
Fatty fish
