Walk or Exercise, that is the question???
We all hear lots of “new” advice on how to stay as fit as possible
eg office workers are often more sedentary than those over aged 75.
“Walking is great for maintaining general mobility” but
“Exercising for half an hour daily” – increasing your heart rate to a safe level (100-120 for the average aged) is now the new advice….as you can imagine it keeps the heart stronger, but joints more stressed…
Exercise bike and swimming still are the best ways to exercise (non-weightbearing and using arms respectively)
Just keep moving and don’t pound on your joints too much…”keeeeeeep moving” and enjoy….
